To hit thick, creamy, warm-damp foam, you need a good badger brush, e.g. made of good pig bristle or horsehair, which results in a somewhat firmer, inexpensive brush. If you like it velvety and particularly luxurious, you can use brushes made from the very best badger hair, here the foam is full and fine-pored. Those willing to shave with sensitive skin, however, are advised to use a shaving brush made from the finer badger or even to the premium quality, the so-called silver-tip. Either are brushed out or plucked out and are characterized by their stripes in three color nuances. The more the drawing is recognizable and the lighter the tips stand out from the black band – the so-called mirror – the higher the quality.
